DESCRIPTION

Welcome to the dark side of happily ever after.

Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student.

But when Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. When Bowditch dies, he leaves Charlie a cassette tape telling a story no one would believe - inside the shed is a portal to another world.

MY REVIEW

Wow. What an incredible read! I really did not know what to expect with this book from Stephen King and it did not disappoint me. I feel like I have struggled to get back into fantasy as the worlds are so gigantic, there's so many different types of fantasy but this was a really great starting place.

You are following a character called Charlie who stumbles upon a man called Howard that needs his help. Charlie helps him out and his world is transformed. Transported into a new world, you stumble upon some classic fairytale characters and themes but are given a new sense of life. It can be creepy, fun, magical, daring.. It was such an intersting read and I couldn't put it down!

This is one of those books that you cannot stop thinking about afterwards and you feel like you relate back to the story quite a lot. Highly recommend!

Have you read this? Do you want to be transported to a magical world?
